Sam's BIG day!!!

Today was swim class, he woke up saying that he didn't want to go. Well I told him that it would be great for him to know how to swim for our next trip to Disney, not that we have one planning. I guess he bought it because he swam for the first time today unassisted!!! I'm so excited!!!!

This is really big......he pooped on the potty!!!! I quote, it didn't hurt, it just dropped out!

Go Sam go!!!! What a big boy you are! I'm so proud!!!!

Here are the boys eating the cupcakes that Michelle came home from work with. She didn't buy them. One of her sales people bought them and sent them with her for the boys. The big one for Sam and the little one for Isaac. Sam never took a bite of his but our little man, well he loved it!

Words!

The boys and I stopped at the bagel store on the way to school on yesterday morning. We're back in the car and I ask Sam how's your bagel, he says great! Then I say Zacky, how's your bagel and he says good! I nearly ran off the road! We have been getting a new word or so each day but we are now having an explosion! So far we have mommy, mama, horse, pig, mine, baby, goggles, good, car, boat, bubbles, dog, Robert and probably more I just can't remember. I had forgotten how much fun the acquisition of words was, look forward to an update on news words to come.

Halloween Fun

What a great weekend we had! We got out of Shabbat dinner at Mom and Dad's, don't get me wrong it's nice and all but a Friday night free, whoo hoo. So we went to the mall. Serve all the needs that we had, we got to eat dinner, Mich got to find the new outfit she was looking for, they have a train ride and in general it's just nice to be out.

Saturday we had a busy day. It started by waking up and going to Jamarama, the Noggin, music fest concert. We went to the one in Morristown but apparently it's making it's way across the nation. Sam got to meet Moose A Moose and Z, which he was very excited about. The concert opened with the Ohemies, they are a sort of band that gets the kids to do yoga exercises. There were slightly annoying but I think that they might be better on TV. The headliner was the Laurie Berkner band and she was GREAT. Isaac was dancing in the aisle! Sam sat on Mich's lap like a stick in the mud. He did say that the concert was good and that he had a great time. We skipped out after she finished so I can't report on how it actually ended. Then I took the boys to lunch while Michy went to Century 21 department store. The boys and I finished eating and went to pick Mich up. Then we were off to Westfield where they were doing trick or treating at the stores. Sam LOVED it. He was practically dragging us from store to store. He was so excited about the acquisistion that it took till at least the 20th store for him to realize that this was actually candy that he could eat. Bring on the sugar high. After that we went home. While Mich relaxed and the boys played I cooked a pot of sauce and meatballs. It was so nice to eat a home cooked meal. I should remember that.

Sunday we woke up, Mich wasn't feeling all that well. There were a few things that we needed at Target so we all went together. Sam had a birthday party to go to, Mich was going to take him but then she decided that since Isaac had fallen asleep she would stay him and rest while he napped. So, Sam and I went to Jacob's birthday party. It was at My Gym, I had never been there before and it was very nice. They were well organized and they had 3 people running the party and keeping control of the kids. After the party we went home, we were all supposed to go into the city to see our friends Angela and Tyson and their son Ronan. Mich didn't feel up to going so the boys and I went. We had a great time. Ronan and Sam dealt really well with pesky Isaac, they played so well together I actually got to sit on a sofa and drink a glass of wine. We got home the find that Michy was feeling so much better. Whew!

Monday was an exciting day, Halloween! The downside of sending the kids to school at the Temple is that they don't celebrate Halloween there. No biggie really. The exciting thing is that the firetruck visited school. It was very funny that Sam's class was out visiting the truck while Isaac's class was also visiting it. Isaac is getting better in the school setting, I think he is starting to understand that he should participate as a group at certain times. He still however spills the open cup of water that they give him. I skipped out of work early to take the boys trick or treating. Mich also can home early and we met up with Vicki, Joe, Julia and Alyssa and my parents also came along. The kids were all so excited, running up to the doors. Even Isaac loved it. Then we went to the Halloween parade that ends at the park with donuts, cider and coffee. After that we went to the really special Halloween houses so that Sam could see them. By the time we got home everyone was ready for bed.

I spoke to my dad yesterday I told him that we were going to the Great Pumpkin Sail so he said what do you need more pumpkins for? So I explained that it was sail not sale and that we got to take out carved pumpkin and they put it on a float and set it out on the lake. It was so beautiful by the end of the night there were 400 lighted pumpkins out on the lake. It was really magical. There were also 4 firerings with great big long stick and marshmallow and a great life performer and a storyteller. I can't wait till next year when we get lots of families to go together.

It's a good thing that I have an event for work today. I'm just sitting in the lobby of the hotel thankful for the free wifi catching up on my life. We have back to school night tonight and tomorrow I think I get to pack alone for our trip to see, as Sam puts it, Harris who has two mom's like me.
